Terms of Service
- ReedRoom is a place to learn music and express how you feel. It is not therapy or medical care.
- What you make is yours.
- Plus renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page, and Plus continues until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't give refunds for partial periods.
- A free trial with a card turns into a paid plan when it ends unless you cancel first. A trial without a card just ends.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Heather Gatavasky, who runs ReedRoom ("ReedRoom", "we", "us"). By using reedroom.io you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Who can use ReedRoom
You must be at least 13 years old to use ReedRoom. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to create an account or subscribe.
3. Not a health service
ReedRoom is a music-learning and creative space. It is not a replacement for therapy, counselling, crisis care or medical advice, and nothing on the site is a diagnosis or treatment. If you feel unsafe or in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a trusted crisis resource.
4. Your account
Keep your password private, and use an email address you can access, since it's how you reset your password and how we contact you. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
5. ReedRoom Plus, billing and trials
Free beta. Right now ReedRoom is in a free beta: all rooms and features are unlocked and nothing is charged. We may introduce paid plans later. Beta users will get notice before anything changes, and the terms below apply only once paid plans are offered.
- Prices. Plus is offered monthly or yearly at the price shown on the plan screen when you subscribe. Prices are in US dollars, and payments are processed by Stripe.
- Automatic renewal. Plus renews at the end of each period and charges the payment method on file until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time with "Manage or cancel subscription" on your account page. Plus stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your account returns to a free account. Your progress and creations are kept.
- Refunds. We don't refund partial periods or unused time. If something has gone wrong, such as a duplicate charge or a charge after you cancelled, email support@reedroom.io and we'll make it right.
- Free trial with a card. The trial lasts 7 days. Unless you cancel before it ends, your card is charged for the plan you chose on the date shown when you started.
- Free trial without a card. The trial lasts 7 days and then ends automatically, with no charge. Plus features lock until you subscribe. Nothing you made is deleted.
- One free trial per person. We may end trials that are being misused (for example, many accounts made to repeat a trial).
- Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you'd like.
6. What you make
You own what you create on ReedRoom, such as the takes you record and save. You give us permission to store your creations and play them back to you, only so the site can provide them. We won't share or publish them without asking you. If we add sharing or community features later, sharing will be your choice.
7. Our content
The site, its design, room content, lessons and sounds belong to ReedRoom. You may use them personally while using ReedRoom, but please don't copy, resell or redistribute them.
8. Fair use
Please don't: break or overload the site, try to access other people's accounts or data, scrape or copy the site in bulk, misuse free trials, or use ReedRoom for anything illegal. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and we'll explain why where we reasonably can.
9. Changes and availability
ReedRoom is in beta, so features will change and the site may sometimes be slow or unavailable. We may change or stop features. If we ever shut down Plus, we'll give reasonable notice and won't charge for time you can't use.
10. Disclaimers and limits
ReedRoom is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, ReedRoom isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If you have a problem, please email us first. Most things can be sorted out quickly. Any legal dispute will be handled in the courts located in California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is meaningful, we'll update the date above and let account holders know before it takes effect. Continuing to use ReedRoom after that means you accept the new terms.
